Sister Laura
About the Presenter: Sister Laura was born in East Paterson, NJ and entered the Peekskill Franciscan Sisters in September of 1970. She received a BA in English/Elementary Education from Ladycliff College, an MA in Theology from St. Bonaventure University, certification in Montessori Education from St. Nicholas Training Center in London, England, and certification in Bereavement Counseling from the Archdiocese of NY. Sister has been a Montessori Teacher, High School teacher, a Hospital Chaplain and a Pastoral Associate. In 2015, she was elected Provincial Superior of the American Province of the Franciscan Sisters. Sister volunteered in the New York State prison system from 1980 – 2015, working with men, women, and inmates with AIDS and has worked on many retreats for teenagers, inmates, and adults.
