Mary DeTurris Poust is a writer, retreat leader, and spiritual director living in upstate New York. She has written six books on Catholic spirituality and seven books of seasonal scriptural reflections, including Waiting in Joyful Hope: Daily Reflections for Advent & Christmas 2025-2026, recently released by Liturgical Press.
She recently published an article in the National Catholic Reporter on a Centering Prayer event she attended, where she experienced “a hunger for a community, a place where silence moves like a spiritual stream flowing between us and out into the world, a place where division gives way to harmony, and practice leads us ever closer to presence.” She hopes other people have a similar experience at her upcoming retreat.
